Bethany has developed an eye infection with the result that her head was one big crusty ball this morning as beside her eyes being stuck shut her nose was also covered in dried snot. She was obviously upset before we bathed her eyes so that she could open them but once cleaned up she seemed alright within herself with regular cleaning of the eyes and ointment application.
Five years I've nearly had my car for and I'm still not comfortable about which way round the control levers on the steering wheel are. No doubt out of sheer bloody mindedness cars from the Far East have the wiper stick and light control the other way round from Western cars with the result that when I try to be polite and flash people for letting me through at night I squirt water on my windscreen. I was reminded of this this evening when the same predicament faced me when a car let me through the gap in the road narrowed by parked cars either side. I paused to consider whether to trigger the left or right stick by which time it was too late and I vainly held up my hand in an acknowledgment of thanks - futile as the driver would not have seen my gesture in the dark. At least I remember which side my petrol cap is on.
